    Today's Proverb:
The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

    Monday, June 19, 2006
A couple of weeks ago, we did a whole bunch of sanding and texturing on our walls. Some people from our church helped. We were cleaning up, and Dad told me to go outside and rinse a bucket and fill it with water.
Megan volunteered to come with me since it was really dark and the pump is 60 feet away from the house. While I waited for her get her shoes on, I laid down on the deck for a minute. I went out and filled the bucket up and came back inside.
I was talking to Mom for a minute when I felt something crawling on my neck. I figured it was probably just a daddy-longleg, since we have so many of those in our house. I went to flick it off but when I felt it, it was way too big and heavy to be a daddy-longleg. Then I panicked and started flicking at it and squirming around!
Then, to my horror, flying off my neck I saw a 3 1/2 inch scorpion! I screamed when I saw what I had knocked off my neck. Then it started crawling toward Rachael, who was at the time screaming, "Momma! Buuuuuug!"
So Mom squished it as hard as she could.
It scared me so bad that I started crying after it was off, because I thought that maybe I was just kind of in shock, and I hadn't felt it sting me yet, but it didn't sting me!

A scorpion!!! Wow, that is scary! I'm so glad it didn't bite you. I'm also glad we don't have scorpions on Long Island--at least, I don't think we do, LOL!

I'm glad it didn't bite me too! I have been stung by a scorpion once on the face while I was sleeping on the couch at my grandma's house. It really hurt!
He stung somebody new every Friday for 4 weeks in a row. We called him the Serial Stinger.
